The New York Jets have place rookie linebacker Hamsah Nasirildeen on injured reserve with no reason for the move being given as of yet. The converted safety out of Florida State was handed a starting linebacker spot this season and didn’t let go as he impressed throughout the offseason program and pre-season.
After playing in each of the team’s first two games, Nasirildeen hasn’t seen the field on defense since week two and will now miss time on the shelf.
The Jets also added offensive lineman Isaiah Williams to the active roster after elevating him to the game day roster twice already this season. Per league rule, a player can’t be added to the active roster from the practice squad more than twice in a season and must be added to the 53-man roster instead if a team wishes to make them active.
A college tackle, Williams was projected by some to move inside to guard as a pro, so perhaps he gets a look on the interior to challenge the struggling Greg Van Roten.
