With the NFL’s legal tampering period just hours away, we’re starting to hear rumblings about players that teams may pursue or cut ties with and that includes the Jets.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Jets are interested in re-signing speedy wide receiver Breshad Perriman while Rich Cimini mentioned the possibility of Kendrick Bourne and CB K’Wuan Williams among second-tier options.
Playing for one of the NFL’s worst head coaches last season with a struggling Sam Darnold, Perriman had some stretches where he showed he has the ability to get behind a defense. If the move is to make Perriman or 4th receiver, it makes sense. If it’s with an eye at bringing him back to start, it won’t be well-received by the Jets faithful.
Bourne and Williams make sense as rumored players given their familiarity with head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Mike Lafleur from their time together in San Francisco.
