If Robert Saleh was indeed the Jets top choice to be their new head coach, it would appear it’s time to move on to plan B.
Saleh has left Florham Park without a deal despite multiple reports tabbing him as the team’s first choice. The fact that he was the first coach to come in for a second interview supports that claim, but no deal was done.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets second choice is Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, so stay tuned to see who comes in next.
In two seasons as an offensive coordinator, Smith’s offense has leaned heavily on running back Derrick Henry en route to the 12th ranked offense in 2020 and the 2nd ranked unit it 2019.
