For the first time in the 2020 season, the New York Jets will be fielding their “Big 3” wide receivers, Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman and Denzel Mims, that Adam Gase has gushed about for the last few months. Unfortunately, they will be without their signal caller, Sam Darnold, as he nurses a right shoulder injury. Joe Flacco will get his 3rd start of the season, and has 381 yards 1 TD and 1 INT in two games thus far. Tight end Trevon Wesco was placed on Injured Reserve earlier today, and Ross Travis was elevated in his place.
On the defensive side of the ball for New York, Quinnen Williams is not expected to play tonight after suffering a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. The Jets elevated DL Tanzel Smart off the practice squad, so it’s possible he can see snaps in the defensive line rotation tonight. At 0-8, New York is expected to let their younger players, including Bryce Hall and Jabari Zuniga, get some significant playing time moving forward. In Joe Douglas’ press conference last week, he emphasized a focus on player development in both the short and long term. Will the Jets get positive feedback from a player development standpoint tonight? Here is the full list of inactive players for Monday night’s AFC East rivalry.
