Perriman joins second-round draft choice Denzel Mims on the shelf, leaving the Jets top receivers at the moment as Jamison Crowder, Jeff Smith and Josh Malone.

With the season fast approaching and no preseason games, having Darnold miss reps with his top targets is far from an ideal situation. The injuries at receiver further highlight the importance of tight ends Chris Herndon and Ryan Griffin staying healthy.
