Williamson & Griffin to the Active Roster
The Jets received good news today on the injury front as LB Avery Williamson and TE Ryan Griffin both returned to the field and practiced with the team. The Jets had placed both Williamson and Griffin on the PUP list on July 20th.
Williamson, who was once thought as expendable, emerged as a key piece on defense when CJ Mosley opted out of the 2020 season due to Covid.
Ryan Griffin emerged last year and developed strong chemistry with Sam Darnold with the absence of Chris Herndon. Griffin was injured shortly after signing a contract extension but he did end the season with 5 touchdowns.
