Hoping to get as many draft picks signed, sealed and delivered as possible before their (possible) start of training camp, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting that the Jets have come to terms with rookie punter Braden Mann on a 4-year contract with $3.47 million.
With easily the most powerful leg in college football, the Jets clearly felt Mann was worth of spending a sixth-round draft pick on as they bid farewell to former punter Lac Edwards who was not retained by the team.
Mann will give the Jets a punter who should be able to consistently flip the field and make life easier on Gang Green’s defense. Mann averaged 48.9 yards per punt during his time at Texas A&M.
