The Jets have signed LB B.J. Bello and placed LB Albert McClellan on injured reserve. The team also added CB Arthut Maulet to their active roster from the practice squad and signed OL Leo Koloamatangi to fill out their P-squad.
Bello was most recently a part of the Packers practice squad and was released Oct. 5. The Illinois State product first signed with the Browns in 2017 as an undrafted free agent and spent most of his rookie season on their active roster before stints with the Cardinals (2018 PS), Eagles (2018 active roster) and Texans (2019 final cut). The 6’3”, 229-pound 24-year-old has totaled eight tackles in 19 games.
McClellan suffered a concussion against the Cowboys in Week 6. The ninth-year pro rejoined the Jets Sept. 2 after spending the summer with the team. The 6’2”, 235-pounder played on 90 special teams snaps (118 total) this season and tallied four special teams stops in addition to 28 defensive snaps, all of which came against Dallas. The 33-year-old has totaled 182 tackles in his career.
Maulet first joined the Green & White in January on a reserve/future deal and made the 53-man roster, but was waived Oct. 15 and placed on the practice squad. The third-year pro played in five contests for the Jets this season and totaled two tackles. The 5’10”, 190-pounder also scored on a muffed punt in Week 3 against the Patriots. In 17 career games, Maulet has totaled 12 tackles.
Koloamatangi signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and has been a final cut each year since entering the league. The 6’4”, 310-pounder has bounced on and off their practice squad and was most recently waived/injured. The Hawaii product played 41 games for the Rainbow Warriors in four seasons.
