Better Late Than Never? Jets Decide to Look Closer at Mosley Injury

When CJ Mosley had to leave the Jets season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills with what the team called a groin injury, they were optimistic enough about his status that they didn’t rule out the possibility of him playing the following week against the  Cleveland Browns.  Mosley would miss that game.  Then he would miss the next one, and the next one, then the bye week, then he missed another one.

During that time it would appear the Jets didn’t do a full evaluation of their big money linebacker and inserted him back in to the lineup on Monday night against the Patriots when it was very clear early on that Mosley was far from 100 percent.

With Mosley re-injured, Adam Gase has told reporters that the team will now take another look at Mosley to see if the team missed on the original diagnosis almost eight weeks ago.

When asked by reporters, Gase would not offer any insight as to how bad the team feels Mosley’s injury may be, but his body language suggested he wasn’t overly optimistic.  Expect Mosley to miss significant time moving forward.
