Man, oh Mono; Jets’ Darnold “Could Miss Several Weeks” With Illness
In a development that’s likely to make Jets fans sick, head coach Adam Gase addressed the media and announced that starting quarterback Sam Darnold “could miss several weeks” as he battle mono.
Darnold was previously believed to have a case of strep throat but it turns out his condition is more serious, meaning the team will have to turn to back-up quarterback Trevor Siemean. Siemian has started 24 career games, throwing 30 TD’s to 24 INT’s, but having an experienced backup won’t make Jets fans feel any better.
With the Browns and Patriots on deck, the last thing the Jets needed was for things to get tougher, and that’s exactly what just happened.
