Bilal is Back; Jets re-sign Free Agent Running Back
In what’s suddenly a busy day for the Jets, the team has come to terms with running back Bilal Powell.
A reunion: The #Jets have agreed to terms with RB Bilal Powell, who was recently cleared from a neck injury once thought to be career threatening.

After missing the end of last season with a neck injury, Powell’s time in Green and White was thought to be over, but now he comes in to compete for a spot in what is suddenly a crowded backfield.
After carrying the ball just 13 times as a rookie, Jets RB Bilal Powell never averaged fewer than 4.0 YPC despite playing behind some poor O-lines. Last years group was one of the worst run blocking lines in the NFL yet he still averaged 4.3 YPC. pic.twitter.com/FCGgRH1jCY

A model of consistency, Powell has never averaged less than 4.0 yards per carry outside of his rookie season and has low miles on a pair of legs that haven’t been heavily taxed in college or the NFL.
