The Jets ended the season at 4 and 12 after a blow out loss against the New England Patriots. The third consecutive losing season was apparently enough for NY Jets CEO Christopher Johnson. He released this statement announcing that Todd Bowles has been fired.

From the official website of the NY Jets:
GM Mike Maccagnan will work closely with Johnson on the search for a new head coach.
That ends months of speculation, Bowles is out and Maccagnan is in. The search for the next head coach is officially underway. We will have more on this story as updates become available. Be sure to check out our forums for updates on Todd Bowles being fired.
Best of luck to Todd Bowles moving forward. A true professional who always handled himself with class. It didn't work out here but he worked hard and represented this team well. We wish him success wherever he ends up.
