Jets vs. Patriots to be Bowles’ Final Game

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Jets are prepared to fire head coach Todd Bowles at some point after today’s game against the New England Patriots.

Bowles’ fourth season with the Jets has been by far his worst.  After going 5-11 last season, the Jets added cornerback Trumaine Johnson, linebacker Avery Williamson, and center Spencer Long to plug some of the holes on the team’s roster.

Under Bowles, Johnson and Long had their worst pro seasons, meaning moves that should have been upgrades ended up falling flat, largely contributing to what will go down as another terrible season under Bowles, who will enter his final game with a record of 24-39 and 14-34 since starting his first season 10-5.
