Jets Promote RB De’Angelo Henderson; Release CB Juston Burris
The Jets placed Bilal Powell on I.R. earlier this week and that left them with only two active running backs on the roster (Isaiah Crowell and Trenton Cannon). Today the team announced that De’Angelo Henderson was promoted from the practice squad. Elijah McGuire has been practicing with the team and he is eligible to return from I.R. next week. To make room for Henderson, CB Juston Burris was released.
A sixth-round pick of the Broncos in the 2017 draft, the 5’7”, 208-pound Henderson appeared in five games last season for Denver and had nine touches including one scoring reception. He has spent the majority of the 2018 campaign on the Jets’ practice squad.
The Coastal Carolina product, a 5’7”, 208-pounder, played in 50 games for the Chanticleers and rushed for 4,635 yards and 58 touchdowns. Henderson also recorded 97 receptions for 921 yards and six scores.

Burris is the second member of the seven-person 2016 draft class to leave the Jets. Christian Hackenberg, a second-round pick, was the other.
