Jets Reportedly Meet With Cornerback Adonis Alexander

With the NFL’s supplemental draft approaching on July 11th, the Jets have reportedly met with the highest profile player available in the draft in Virginia Tech cornerback Adonis Alexander.

Tony Pauline of draftanalyst.com had this to say about Alexander:

Alexander, who some scouts graded as the third-best senior prospect in the nation and others penned as the No. 2 upperclassman cornerback, measured 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds.

He timed 4.61 in the 40, 7.18 in the three-cone and 4.37 in the short shuttle. His vertical touched 35.5 inches while his broad reached 10-foot-4.

While Alexander’s 40 time of 4.61 is alarmingly slow, Eric Galko of optimum scouting points out the fact that supplemental draft players don’t have as much time to train for combine-specific drills in the say way traditional draft prospects do.

With great height and length, it’s no surprise to hear the Jets are at least kicking the tires on Alexander.
