NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Jets are expected to host free agent quarterback Josh McCown.
Without an established veteran on the roster, a player of McCown’s stature makes perfect sense for the Jets, who currently have only Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg under contract. Neither of the two are likely to be ready to start in 2017.
A veteran of 14 pro seasons, McCown has battled injuries while playing with the Cardinals, Lions, Raiders, Panthers, Bears, Bucs and Browns. In that time, he has thrown 79 TD’s to 69 interceptions.
