Fantasy Football: Mid-Preseason Top 150 Update
I have made many changes to my original top 150 and this is due to what I have seen and mostly from what I have read for each team’s reporting. This will probably change a few more times before drafts start in the first week of September.
A couple of notes on players moving up and down:
- Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliot: I dropped him a few spots due to the concern over soft tissue injuries. I am curious how he looks this week.
- Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy: I have now bought in. He looks like his rookie self, and the Packers seem committed.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans: He had the yards last year, but I think a touchdown normalization will make him a top WR2.
- Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper: It has come out that he played the last eight games last year very injured. Now? He is healthy and ready to go.
- Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin: He is as safe a WR2 as there is in the draft.
- Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill: He has looked good, but my concern is loss of former Bengals Off. Coord. and now Cleveland Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson as well as a job share with RB Giovani Bernard.
- San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde: The 49ers don’t have a strong roster right now, but Hyde is a plus and healthy. It has been proven that Chip Kelly can get numbers out of a RB. So Hyde could be the perfect guy if you go with two WRs early.
- New York Jets WR Eric Decker: With QB Ryan Fitzpatrick back, there is no reason he cannot duplicate his stats from last year.
- Arizona Cardinals WR Michel Floyd: He is flying under the radar right now, but he was very consistent while being banged up last year. He now seems healthy, and the Cardinals are a team to beat.
- New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman: He just does not stay healthy to count on for a WR2 as high as he gets drafted. The suspension of QB Tom Brady is an unavoidable factor as well.
- Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah: I’ve got a hunch that he turns into a solid RB2 with a full year of Lions Offensive Coordinator Jim Bob Cooter coming.
