Wilkerson Present for Mandatory Sessions, Agent Releases Statement

In a largely anticipated development regarding star defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson and his contract situation, the big defensive end was present for today’s mandatory workouts after recently skipping out on voluntary OTA’s.

During his session with the media, Wilkerson unsurprisingly said that the process has been frustrating but that he hopes the two sides can work something out. Later in the day, his agent released a statement the following statement.
“After much deliberation, Mo will be attending this week’s mini camp. Mo is and has always been a team-first player, and is willing to put the team ahead of his own contractual status. Mo loves being a member of the Jets and would prefer to finish his career in new York.”
Mini camp is scheduled to last three days but Wilkerson suggested he may be limited as his late season toe injury is still an issue.
