Muhammad Wilkerson will miss the first game of his career with a toe injury.
Other inactives include: Josh Thomas, Matt Simms, Walt Powell, Wesley Johnson, Dakota Dozier, and Jace Amaro
Wesley Johnson and Dakota Dozier will be inactive again this week, a common theme this year.
Many Jets fans have been calling for Matt Simms to take over at QB for the Jets after an abysmal performance from Mike Vick last week against Buffalo. Rex Ryan replied with a simple “No.” The Jets will turn back to Geno Smith for today’s game against the Dolphins. Simms will be inactive for today’s game
Jace Amaro will be out today, most likely meaning significant playing time for Zach Sudfeld. The Jets also released OLB Antwan Barnes and activated Chris Pantale from the practice squad today possibly meaning some playing time for Pantale.
Walt Powell will also be out for today’s game. Powell lost his spot to Percy Harvin, and will likely be gone after this season.
Josh Thomas will be out for today’s game even with the Jets deficiencies at cornerback. He will also likely be gone after this season, since he is only a stopgap player for the Jets.
