The Jets placed WR/KR Josh Cribbs on season ending reserve/injured today. Cribbs suffered a shoulder injury during the Jets 23-3 loss to the Miami Dolphins which head coach Rex Ryan described as “pretty bad” during his Monday press conference.
Since joining the Jets in mid October Cribbs role was mostly on special teams returning kickoffs and punts. He was also featured in the “wild-cat” offensive packages and even completed two passes as he played quarterback collegiately at Kent State. Cribbs now 30 has a history of recent injuries and this latest one might spell the end of his career.
The Jets have signed RB/KR Darius Reynaud to replace Cribbs. Reynaud had 53 kickoff returns for 1,240 yards and 31 punt returns 410 yards for the Tennessee Titans in 2012 but was released from the team in October of this year.
