Free Agents WR Sims-Walker And DT/DE Douzable Invited For Minicamp Tryout
The Jets are looking to bolster certain positions by bringing in players for tryouts during their upcoming minicamp. As reported earlier tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. will attend camp and the Jets have also invited two more players for a tryout. Wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker and Defensive Lineman Leger Douzable will join Winslow at the team’s practices:
The Jets have invited 3 veteran FAs–TE Kellen Winslow, WR Mike Sims-Walker & DL Leger Douzable–to this week's minicamp as tryouts.

Receiver Mike Sims-Walker was a 2007 third round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars playing most of his career there (briefly with the Rams in 2011). His best season came in 2009 recording 63 receptions for 869 yards with 7 touchdowns but has not played since a knee injury ended his 2011 season after six games. The Jets are hoping Sims-Walker can make the team adding some much needed depth to their receiving core.
DT/DE – Leger Douzable spent last season on the Tennessee Titians injured reserve with a shoulder issue but had 38 tackles and a sack with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2011 season. With Quinton Coples likely spending more time at outside linebacker the Jets are in need of some help along the defensive line.
