The Jets have seen several starters from last season leave the team in the first few days of free agency. One position that the Jets won’t need a replacement for is Kicker. The team re-signed Nick Folk on Saturday.
From the Jets PR Department:
The New York Jets have re-signed unrestricted free agent K Nick Folk
Folk (K/6-1/222/Arizona/Hollywood, CA) has spent the last three seasons with the Jets after joining the team as a free agent (02/23/10). He was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft, spending three years with the club before being waived (12/21/09). In six career seasons, Folk has appeared in 94 games and has converted 134-of-172 field goal attempts (77.9%) and all 242 PAT tries. In 2012, Folk kicked in 16 games and hit 21-of-27 field goals (77.8%) and all 30 of his PAT attempts.
Several beat reporters confirmed the signing as well:
