Po’uha (34) coming off a down year which he struggled with injuries was a prime candidate for release given the team’s tight salary situation as the Jets have saved $3.834 million against the salary cap.
With the Jets signing veteran quarterback David Garrard, terms undisclosed, but assuming about a $1.25 million salary the Jets will have approximately $7.5 million in cap space starting the free agency period.
