Jets Hire Bobby April Jr. And Tim McDonald As Coaches
The New York Daily News is reporting that the Jets have hired Bobby April Jr. to be the Assistant coach/Quality Controls coach and are expected to hire former All-Pro Tim McDonald as Defensive Backs coach as Dennis Thurman is expected to be named as the new Defensive Coordinator.
Bobby April Jr. was with the Eagles the past two seasons as their defensive quality control coach. Before that he spent time at Nichols St. as a Special Teams Coordinator/Safeties coach, Portland St. as their Special Teams Coordinator/Inside Linebackers coach, Tulane as a graduate assistant, Louisiana-Lafayette as a student coach & spent time as an NFL intern for 3 years.
Tim McDonald is a 6-time All-Pro safety who played for the Cardinals and the 49ers. His coaching experience as of today is as a high school coach in 2009 and 2011-2012.
