Jets PR On Stanton Trade

This is the shortest official press release that we have ever received from the Jets.

The New York Jets have traded QB Drew Stanton to the Indianapolis Colts. Terms of the trade are undisclosed. The announcement was made by General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Stanton (QB/6-3/230/Michigan State/Farmington Hills, MI) joined the Jets as an unrestricted free agent on March 16, 2012. He originally entered the NFL as a second-round draft choice of the Detroit Lions in the 2007 NFL Draft. In his career, he has appeared in 12 games, making four starts and has thrown for 1,158 yards on 104-of-187 passing with five touchdowns and nine interceptions for a career passer rating of 63.1.

Although the Jets have not release the trade terms, it has been reported that the Jets will lose out on the 500k signing bonus that the agreed to pay Stanton.  The Jets will also give up a 7th round pick and receive a 6th round pick in return.
