Jets Announce First Open Practices

From the New York Jets:

Florham Park, NJ – The New York Jets officially begin 2011 training camp on August 1 at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, NJ. This marks the first time the Jets will host training camp at the team headquarters. The team also announced it will again return to Long Island, NY, for a practice on Thursday, August 25, at Hofstra University at 6:00 p.m. 2011 Training Camp is presented by Atlantic Health, JetBlue, MetLife, The Record, SNY and Toyota.

Players will check-in on Sunday, July 31st and take the field for the first time on Monday, August 1st. The first practice open to the public is Tuesday, August 2 at 2:15 p.m. While the Jets invite fans to attend practices, please note that practice may be cancelled or closed to the public due to inclement weather. For the most up-to-date news regarding practice schedules, fans are encouraged to call the team’s fan line at (973) 549-4844 or go to newyorkjets.com. Fans can also RSVP for the practices they’ll be attending on facebook.com/jets.

Offsite parking is available across from Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. The lot is within walking distance of the facility and shuttle service is available. The parking lot can be accessed from Park Avenue. Once on Park Avenue, fans will be asked to please follow the posted signs.

GENERATION JETS FEST: Generation Jets Fest, an interactive NFL theme park, will be open starting August 2. Jets Fest and Jets Shop will be open every practice from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and open from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the August 25 practice at Hofstra University.
