NFL.com is reporting that the New York Jets have a July 1st deadline to inform SUNY-Cortland whether or not the team will be holding their training camp on the school’s campus. The Jets have traveled up to SUNY-Cortland the last two years, but the prolonged lockout has the team re-evaluating their plans for the upcoming season (if there even is a season).
Based on the team’s recent actions to cut costs (reducing employee’s and coaches pay) I would not be surprised to see the Jets hold training camp at their Florham Park facility. This would be good news for all of the New Jersey Jets fans that could not make the trek to upstate New York, but terrible news for the Cortland area as they will be losing significant revenue. Just another trickle down effect from the NFL lockout.
