Jets Release Woody; Taylor, Gholston, And Jenkins Next In Line
On Monday the New York Jets released veteran offensive tackle Damien Woody. This is somewhat of a risky move by the Jets as second year player Vlad Ducasse does not appear ready to start, and Wayne Hunter, who filled in for Woody when he hurt his achilles, is set to become a free agent. Damien was scheduled to make over $3 million dollars in 2011, therefore there is a chance he could return to the team with a more cap friendly deal.
Taylor,Gholston, and Jenkins next? Several media outlets are reporting that the Jets are prepared to part ways with Kris Jenkins, Jason Taylor, and Vernon Gholston. Of the three players I could see Jenkins coming back under a new incentive laden deal. As for Gholston he has to go down as one of the biggest busts in the history of the Jets. Three years: 0 sacks.
