On Monday Jason Taylor addressed the media. Here is the transcript courtesy of the Jets.
On how tough it is preparing during such a short week…
“It’s different. It’s more of a mental thing you do than a physical thing. Obviously, you can’t pound on each other during the week with the quick turnaround. I think, for the traveling team, it’s a little harder, but at the end of the day, on the backside of it you get some more rest, so it’s a pretty even deal.”
On the confidence level the team has in coming back in a game…
“We obviously believe we can do it. Even yesterday, when there was 50 seconds to go in the game or whatever, and they (the offense) came back on the field, you’d be surprised how many guys on the sideline were truly saying, “The crazy thing is we’re still going to win this game.” That’s kind of how this team reacts and feels and how we carry ourselves. Now, if it doesn’t work out, does that mean we’ll lose confidence in one game? No, but so far, so good. We can play better. We need to put these games to bed a little earlier.”
On if he marvels at Mark Sanchez’s development…
“No, you see him put the work in. I got here in the offseason and saw him working. I’ve been around a long time and seen a lot of quarterbacks, so you understand what they need to do, how they need to react and how they need to mature and grow from season to season. You (saw) Mark putting that work in in the offseason. When I first got here, I saw it and it hasn’t stopped.”
