LaDainian Tomlinson interview transcript 10/28/10
On Thursday New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson met with the media. Here is the transcript courtesy of the Jets.
On feeling refreshed after the bye week…
“It’s always great to have a bye week. A lot of times during the year, you get it going and you get into rhythm and sometimes you don’t want your bye week coming at that time. For us, we had two guys that needed to get healthy, and I think it came at the right time for us. Some (guys) got a chance to kind of recharge that battery and get ready to go back at it.”
On the team not being satisfied at 5-1…
“I mean just the way some of the games turned out, we look at ourselves on film and say, ‘God, we could’ve played a whole lot better.’ The record, it looks nice, but at the same time, we’re critical of how we play. Sometimes we have lapses where we just don’t seem to click at that time, but that’s something we’re working on. We never said we wanted to be playing our best football in September and October. We always want to be playing our best football at the end of the season, going into the playoffs.”
On Green Bay’s aggressive style of defense…
“They have everybody run to the ball (and) really attack whoever has the ball. It’s really unique because a lot of teams you see the corners that don’t want to tackle sometimes, but these guys, they really like to tackle. For us, we have to make sure we’re aware of that, we have to block them up and, hopefully, we’ll have some things go our way.”
