Jets sign Mauga, Cummings; Waive Green
On Tuesday the New York Jets announced that they have signed LB Josh Mauga to the active roster from the practice squad, signed recently released LB Kenwin Cummings to the practice squad, and released DT Howard Green.

Mauga (LB/6-1/245/Nevada/Fallon, NV) signed to the Jets practice squad on September 6, 2010, after being waived on September 4. He originally signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent on August 16, 2009. A four-year starter at Nevada, Mauga totaled 54 tackles, 7.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks his senior year in 2008.
Cummings (LB/6-3/230/Wingate/Pembroke, NC) initially joined the club as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2008 and was inactive for the season opener before being signed to the Jets practice squad for the remainder of the season. After spending the first nine weeks of the 2009 season on the practice squad, he was added to the 53-man roster on November 16, 2009, and earned his NFL debut on special teams in the Jets Wild Card Playoff game at Cincinnati. He saw action on special teams in three games this season before being waived on October 22.
Green (DT/6-2/350/Louisiana State/Donaldsville, LA) was signed by the Jets on October 4 after being released by the Jets on September 30, 2010. He was previously waived by the Washington Redskins on September 4, 2010. Green has played two games with the Jets this season, recording one forced fumble at Miami. Last season, he played 12 games for the Jets and recorded 37 tackles. For his career, Green has played 50 games, registering 118 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Originally a sixth-round draft selection of the Houston Texans in 2002, Green has also seen action in regular season games for Baltimore (2002), New Orleans (2003-04) and Seattle (2007-08).
