Tomlinson named AFC Offensive Player of the Week
On Wednesday the NFL announced that New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Tomlinson, who rushed for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, received the award along with the Chargers Shaun Phillips (Defense), and the Jaguars Josh Scobee (Special teams).
Some highlights from LT’s performance (courtesy of the NFL):
- Tomlinson registered his first 100-yard game as a Jet, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries (7.0 average) in a 38-14 win over Buffalo.
- Recorded the first score of the game on a one-yard touchdown run. His second touchdown came in the third quarter on a 26-yard run.
- Led the NFL in rushing yards (133) in Week 4 and tied for the league high in rushing touchdowns with two.
