Mr. Johnson Tear Down That Stadium
Some call it Giants stadium. Jets fans prefer to call it history. The process of tearing down the stadium began today. NBC Sports is reporting that the project will take approximately 4 months, with a cost of over 10 million dollars.
The demolition of Giants Stadium got started Thursday when a giant metal claw attached to a crane started taking bites out of the cement helix at one of the four gates around the 34-year-old facility.
Bon Jovi will open the new stadium in May with a concert. The new (and currently unnamed) stadium will seat 82,500 fans, including 9,500 club seats and over 200 luxury suites. In case you haven’t heard, tickets are still available along with the accompanying PSL (Personal Seat License).
You can talk about the stadium in our New York Jets message board.
