Jets Destroy Raiders; 38 – 0
On Saturday we wrote about the Jets problems on the West Coast last year. Today, Rex Ryan led his team to a nearly perfect game in Oakland. The Jets played smart and executed well in all phases of the game.
The Defense?
They shut out the Raiders. Calvin Pace looked like the rust is off, he had 3 sacks and a forced fumble. The Jets added 2 interceptions (Darrelle Revis, Jim Leonhard).
The Offense?
The New York Jets just recorded back to back 300 yard rushing games. Leon Washington was lost for the season, which is going to hurt this team. But Thomas Jones (26/121 – 1 TD) and Shonne Greene (19/144 – 2 TD) responded in a big way. The offensive line was terrific and Marc Sanchez didn’t have any costly mistakes. He still needs to make ball security a bigger priority (fumble). Marc ended the day 9/15 for 143 yards and had 1 passing touchdown and ran one in as well. Jerricho Cotchery was inactive and David Clowney seems to be emerging as a viable option (4 receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown).
The Jets even ran another fake punt and converted it for a first down. Stay tuned for the JetNation.com Report Card. Brian Clark is out in Oakland and will bring you his first hand account of the action.
