NFL Top Ten – Week Six
By Nick Ferraro
1. Indianapolis Colts
Playoff tickets can go on sale any time now in Indy. Unless Manning gets hurt, this team will put up 14 or 15 wins.
2. New Orleans Saints
The Saints firmly established themselves as the NFC favorite with an impressive win against the Giants. They need to guard against a let down this week in Miami.
3. Minnesota Vikings
Favre hasn’t looked this good since, well, last year at this time. Is his clock ticking away again, or will this last into the postseason?
4. New York Giants
It figured to be a tough day for the Giants, but it shouldn’t have been so one-sided.
5. Denver Broncos
The debate is over – this team is for real. McDaniels deserves a lot of credit for the turnaround. Is Orton good enough to win big games in late in the season?
6. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcon defense held when it mattered most on Sunday night. They will win a bunch of games if they can allow just 14 points to their opponents.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers still don’t have a win where they made you feel they were solid in all phases or dominated the opponent like they did last year. They get a chance to impress us on Sunday against the Vikings.
8. New England
I’m not sure what Sunday told us except that the Titans have hit rock bottom, and the Patriots are a classless bunch led by a classless head coach. Congratulations on the passing touchdown record for a quarter, Tom Brady. A more meaningless distinction there has never been in NFL history.
9. Chicago Bears
The defense played well enough to win in Atlanta. The Bears need more from the running game to challenge the Vikings.
10. Cincinnati Bengals
Is it possible that the Bengals took an opponent lightly? After beating the Steelers and Ravens, the Texans might have taken Cincy by surprise.
