Jets Cotchery shines at charity event in NYC
Never has the phrase “actions speak louder than words” been more fitting than for the man that is Jerricho Cotchery. Over the past 3 seasons wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery has established himself as one of the most consistent players on the New York Jets, as well as a team leader. Cotchery brings a tough, relentless approach to the game and has a style of play that is respected by players and coaches throughout the National Football League. On Monday night Jerricho once again let his actions do the talking for him as his foundation hosted its 2nd annual Tailgate with the Pros charity event.
The event, which was held at the ESPN Zone in New York City, was put together to raise funds for underprivileged children, something that Jerricho and his wife Mercedes take great pride in. Throughout the evening Jerricho and several of his teammates took the time to sign autographs and take pictures with fans while live and silent auctions were conducted in order to raise additional money for the foundation. From a fan perspective it could not have been any more impressive to see the cordial nature of not only Jerricho but also players like Mark Sanchez, David Harris, Calvin Pace, Tony Richardson, Braylon Edwards, Vernon Gholston and Darrelle Revis. It was clearly evident that the players believed in the cause and were there to help out their friend and teammate.
Overall the evening appeared to be a success as a significant amount of money was raised. Regardless if you are a fan of the New York Jets or not, I would highly recommend that you a take second and look at www.cotcheryfoundation.com. You will not find a classier athlete more determined to give back to his community than Jerricho Cotchery.
