Jets Fined For Not Disclosing Brett Favre’s Injury
by Tyson Rauch – Examiner.com
Consider this Brett Favre’s thank you note to the New York Jets for getting the gunslinger out of Green Bay. ESPN is reporting that the National Football League has fined the Jets organization $75,000, general manager Mike Tannenbaum $25,000, and former coach Eric Mangini $25,000, for failing to list Brett Favre’s arm problems on the injury report. (Keep in mind this injury did not keep him from playing in any of the games)
How did the league become aware of this situation? From Favre of course who dramatically had to explain to the Minnesota media the reason behind his poor performance in the last 6 games of the 2008 season. Brett even went as far to state that he would have been willing to sit out some games in order to do what was best for the team. Who are you kidding Brett? Your games played streak means more to you than any amount of wins or losses. If the Jets even tried to approach you about sitting out a game, you would have cried to the media. What are you going to do next, cry about the percentage of jersey revenue you got from the Jets?
