Roster Cutdown Day
After a long and hard training camp, today is the day the Jets have to set their roster at 55 players. According to the star ledger the Jets have already made some moves:
The New York Jets will have to trim their roster size down to 55 players by 4PM EST, September 4th. TE Jack Simmons, TE Kevin Brock and WR Marcus Henry are the first ones to go, according to the Star Ledger.
Jack Simmons seemed to be someone that they were taking a look at, he had his number called a lot in preseason action. He didn’t seem ready and was the victim of some poorly thrown balls as well. Since the Jets thought highly of him, if he clears waivers he could be a practice squad candidate.
More cuts are coming, here is the official NY Jets final roster thread.
