Jets Sign Punter Pakulak

The New York Jets have claimed punter Glenn Pakulak off waivers and have waived punter Ken Parrish and linebacker Josh Mauga. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Pakulak (6’3″, 220) signed with New Orleans on Oct. 29, 2008, and averaged 47.7 yards per punt in the Saints’ last eight games. He was waived on Aug. 17. He was a member of Oakland’s practice squad in 2008 and spent the 2008 off-season with the Chicago Bears. In 2006-07 he played for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe. He was allocated to NFLE by Oakland in 2006 and Tennessee in 2007.
Pakulak did not play in the NFL in 2005 and originally entered the league with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in May 2003. He also has had brief stints with Atlanta (2004) and Pittsburgh (2003).
Parrish (6’1″, 210) was signed by the Jets on Aug. 16. Prior to signing with the Jets, he signed with the Eagles on May 28 and was waived on Aug. 9. He originally entered the NFL when he was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in May 2007. He spent training camp and the preseason with the 49ers before being waived on Aug. 27.
Mauga (6’1″, 243) signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent on Aug. 16. He was a four-year starter at Nevada.
