The New York Jets have claimed Aundrae Allison off of waivers. The WR was previously with the Minnesota Vikings.
Allison (6‘0”, 198) was drafted by Minnesota in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2007 NFL draft. In his two seasons with the Vikings, he recorded 18 receptions for 231 yards. In his rookie season, he set a Vikings record with the longest play in team history, a 104-yard kickoff-return touchdown against Detroit on Dec. 2, 2007.
Allison spent two seasons at East Carolina University and left the school ranked second all-time with 145 receptions and third all-time with 1,732 receiving yards.
Mario Urritia was waived and Tom Shane who is following the Jets at training camp had this to say about him:
Urritia runs like he’s on stilts. He gets no reps at all.
Marcus Henry is definitely on thin ice, too. Barely gets any run, and he doesn’t do much for the special teams, either. It seems like Britt Davis already owns his job. I can’t see what Allison is going to do here.
Seems like a clone of Clowney.
