Jets Cut David Barrett

The New York Jets have released defensive back David Barrett. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Barrett played 69 games in five seasons with the Jets. The 5’10”, 195-pounder started 37 games, recording 247 tackles, a half sack, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 42 passes defensed and 12 interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
During his nine-year career, he has recorded 376 tackles, 71 passes defensed, 18 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He signed with the Jets as an unrestricted free agent in 2004 after spending four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals
