Jets Tame Bengals 26 – 14
The Jets had two weeks to prepare for the winless Bengals and they did not disappoint. The Bengals fell to 0 and 6 after losing to the Jets by a score of 26 to 14. The Jets looked at times like a team coming off a bye week. The rust did not hold them back much as the Carson Palmer-less Bengals continue to struggle this season. The end result is what they are graded on and with this win, the Jets improved their record to 3 and 2.
The story for the Jets continues to be the new and improved run defense. They allowed 43 yards on 21 attempts and they controlled the line of scrimmage all day long. Ryan Fitzpatrick who filled in at QB had a rough outing and was held to 152 yards passing. The sack assault continued for the Jets as they added another five sacks today.
Thomas Jones led the offense with 65 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Jones found the end zone often today which he was unable to do last year. Brett Favre made some costly mistakes (2 interceptions and a fumble that was returned for a touchdown) but continues to move this offense and they seem to be more in synch each week.
The Jets have the Oakland Raiders and K.C. Chiefs the next two weeks. They need to continue to improve offensively running the ball. Stay tuned for the JetNation.com Report Card. You can discuss this game with other Jets fans in our forums.
