The crowd was a mix of Jets and Giants fans and the majority cared about watching their team stay injury free.
Bragging rights? Please. It is the preseason. On the injury front Justin Miller of the Jets left with a foot injury. No word on the x-ray results as of yet. Osi Umenyiora injured his knee and will have an MRI this week.
Brett Favre played the first half. The Jets didn’t score but Brett was 9 of 12 passing and was only sacked once. He had a long touchdown overturned when Bubba Franks was called for illegal motion. Jerricho Cotchery caught the ball in stride for a 49 yard almost touchdown. Favre also had a 28 yard pass to Brad Smith called back because of an illegal shift penalty.
The Jets defense had 8 sacks on the day. They shut the Giants out in the first half and Calvin Pace showed fans why he received a big contract this off-season (2 sacks). The biggest concerns for the Jets are the running game and offensive penalties. They had not much running room and too many motion\false start penalties.
