The Jets opened the pre-season with a 24 – 20 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Pre-season doesn’t mean all that much so the let’s highlight a few points:
- The Jets had a QB named Brett (Ratliff) that threw for 252 yards. He made a big statement for staking his claim to the 3rd QB job.
- Brett Favre didn’t play but he looked good throwing passes on the sidelines in street clothes.
- There was a rain delay in the 1st quarter.
- Kellen Clemens didn’t play much but went 4 of 6 for 31 yards.
- WR David Clowney had an impressive day with two touchdowns and 163 yards receiving
- CB Dwight Lowery got off on the right foot (punt return for a TD and an INT)
The Jets play the Washington Redskins in the Meadowlands next Saturday (08/16) at 7pm.
