Jets Play Like Titans, Beat Dolphins
The Jets received the ultimate slap in the face when the Las Vegas odds came out and had them listed as underdogs. After the Thanksgiving day nightmare against the Cowboys, the Jets responded today. They played their best game of the year in a 40 – 13 victory. This Miami team really might complete the season 0 and 16.
The Jets offense was glad to welcome back Laveranues Coles (ankle). Kellen Clemens was effective (15-24 for 236 yards) and completed passed to 8 different receivers. He did face a steady stream of pressure as the Dolphins blitzed often and the Jets had a hard time picking it up.
The trick play was once again part of the Jets offense. As they split Kellen out wide at times as well as taking him out. Brad Smith and Leon Washington both took direct snaps. It worked as Leon Washington scored two touchdowns. But the biggest news of the day (besides the victory) was Thomas Jones reaching the end zone for the first time on the season.
The Jets defense took advantage of a Miami offense that has no weapons. With Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams on I.R. they were able to sit back and take advantage of rookie QB John Beck. Kerry Rhodes, Drew Coleman and Darrelle Revis all had interceptions as the Miami offense did not reach the end zone all day long.
It was nice to see smiling faces on the Jets sidelines today. Despite the ir record, this team has not given up. They have a lot of heart and pride which they showed today.
