Jetnation Week Fifteen Picks
By Nick Ferraro
Jets at Vikings (-3)
The Jets were disappointing at home last week against Buffalo. They are still alive for the postseason though, and they should be very focused on Sunday. The Vikings were happy to see Detroit come to town after dropping five of their previous six contests. For this game it’s a simple as taking your average AFC team against an average NFC team. Jets 23 Vikings 17
Buccaneers at Bears (-13.5)
The Bears have one win to go to clinch home field advantage for the playoffs. They also have concerns on offense, which works out well if you’re laying 13.5 since they will be very interested in scoring as many points as possible. Factor in that the Bucs have nothing on offense to threaten the Bear’s defense, and you have the recipe for a blowout. Bears 31 Buccaneers 0
Eagles at Giants (-5)
The Eagles have been rejuvenated by the surprisingly solid play of Jeff Garcia. They enter the game with no expectations, and that is always a concern for the opponent. The Giants, however, are the better team, and they are playing at home in the biggest game of their season thus far. The Giants will be able to contain Westbrook and Tiki should run at will against the weak Eagle run defense. Giants 27 Eagles 14
Lions at Packers (-5.5)
The Lions lost Kevin Jones for the season with an injury, and there is very little to like about their play of late. Favre and company handled the Lions in Detroit in their first meeting. They should get the job done again at Lambeau on Sunday. Packers 34 Lions 20
Chiefs at Chargers (-8.5)
The Chiefs were throttled at home last week against the Ravens who managed to keep Larry Johnson from the end zone. The Chargers handled Denver easily at home to clinch the division. San Diego is on a roll, but it might be time for a bit of a letdown, and the Broncos had some success running the ball at the strong Charger defense. The Chiefs will be focused on getting Larry Johnson going, and they’ll take advantage of last week’s film to find him the holes The Broncos were opening. LJ will run it enough to keep the Chiefs close against LT and the Bolts. Chargers 31 Chiefs 27
