JetNation Week 8 Picks
By Nick Ferraro
Last Week: Straight: 5–7–1 (with spread: 5–7–1)
Year to Date: Straight: 59–37–2 (with spread: 47–49–2)
This week is easy. There, I said it. This is going to be a big week. I am tempting the gods of the point spread because I’m that confident. This is a double-digit winning week. I am going to win at least ten of these. Book it.
Texans at Titans (-3)
The Texans played very well in smacking the Jags last week. The Titans come in off a bye week after trashing the Redskins. The Texans are better on defense.
Texans 28 Titans 16
Falcons at Bengals (-3.5)
The Falcons found a passing game last week against Pittsburgh. The Bengals seem to have lost theirs. It still bothers me that Atlanta had so much trouble handling Charlie Batch after Big Ben went lights-out.
Bengals 33 Falcons 23
Buccaneers at Giants (-9)
The letdown is a factor for the Giants after slamming the Cowgirls and a short week. The Bucs just don’t have enough on offense to stay close.
Giants 34 Buccaneers 13
49ers at Bears (-16)
It’s a boatload of points, but the Bears got a wake-up call against the Cards, and they’ve had a week to get ready.
Bears 30 49ers 10
Cardinals at Packers (-4)
Ahman Green’s presence means a lot to Green Bay.  They’re much better with him in the lineup. I just can’t give more than the field goal with the Packers.
Packers 31 Cardinals 30
Ravens at Saints (-1.5)
The Saints are too good at home, and the Ravens have issues on offense.
Saints 23 Ravens 12
Â
Rams at Chargers (-9.5)
The Chargers are too much for the Rams. The Bolts will play much better than they showed last week in KC.
Chargers 27 Rams 13
Steelers (-9) at Oakland
The Steelers are tough off a loss. Whether it’s Big Ben or Batch, it doesn’t matter against the Raiders.
Steelers 28 Raiders 7
Jaguars at Eagles (-7.5)
The Jags took it right on the chin last week against the Texans. They have been exposed as pretenders. The Eagles have lost two close games in a row. They’ll be ready to play their best game.
Eagles 31 Jaguars 17
Jets at Browns (-1.5)
The Jets are the better team. They win again and continue to exceed expectations.
Jets 20 Browns 10
Colts at Broncos
The Broncos have been built to beat Indy since they hammered Denver two years in a row in the playoffs. They will grind the Colts up on the ground and play keep-away from Manning.
Broncos 27 Colts 17
Cowgirls at Panthers
The league’s two most overrated teams meet Sunday in Carolina. The Tuna’s career and the Cowgirls season will continue to unravel.
Panthers 34 Cowgirls 17
Patriots (-2) at Vikings
Speaking of overrated, ESPN’s Mike Golic tabbed the Pats as the AFC’s best team. Hard to figure when you consider they got manhandled at home in a Sunday nighter against Denver. The Patsies finally get a couple games against actual professional football teams starting this week.Â
Vikings 26 Patriots 17
