Jets Sign Two – Waive Two
The New York Jets announced they have claimed tight end Zachary Hilton off waivers from New Orleans and defensive lineman Rashad Moore off waivers from Oakland. To make room on the roster, the Jets waived wide receiver Wallace Wright and defensive tackle Titus Adams. The announcements were made by Jets’ General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.Hilton, 6-8, 268, is entering his fourth season in the NFL out of the University of North Carolina. Last season, the former Saints’ undrafted free agent, gained 396 yards on 35 receptions with one touchdown.
Moore, 6-3, 325, a former sixth-round selection by Seattle, is entering his third season in the NFL. In 2004, Moore notched career-highs in tackles with 46, sacks with two and fumble recoveries with three.
Wright, an undrafted free agent, played four seasons for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels after originally entering school as a walk-on before earning a scholarship. Wright was the primary kickoff return man for UNC the past four seasons and added 23 receptions for 312 yards and three touchdowns.
Adams, a former seventh-round selection of the Jets, has played in 48 games for the University of Nebraska. Adams made 21 starts and recorded 134 career tackles, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions, returning one of the picks for a touchdown while with the Cornhuskers.
