Jets Move Garrard To Retirement List Add WR Obomanu
The New York Jets have made a few moves placing quarterback David Garrard on the Reserve/Retirement list, which removes him from the team’s roster, opening a spot to sign wide receiver Ben Obomanu.
The Jets will retain Garrard’s rights, he cannot sign with another team, along with saving one million dollars in salary, but a $100,000 signing bonus will remain on the Jets cap.
The team also announced the signing of wide receiver Ben Obomanu (6’1″, 204) formerly of the Seattle Seahawks. Obomanu has 87 career catches for 1,209 yards and 7 touchdowns during his six years in the NFL. Obomanu will add some much needed depth at the receiver position.
