Jets Sign RB Goodson
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter the New York Jets have signed former Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson:

This marks the first major signing for new Jets general manager John Idzik. Goodson was a fourth round draft pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2009. His best year with Carolina came in 2010 having 452 yards rushing with a 4.4 yards per-carry average along with 40 receptions for 310 yards.
Goodson had a down 2011 season with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart handled most of the time at running back for the Panthers. He eventually ended up on injured reserve after being used mostly on kickoff returns.
Last season Goodson played for the Oakland Raiders rushing 35 times for 221 yards a 6.3 yards per-carry average while adding 16 receptions for 195 yards.
Goodson has big play ability along with the receiving skills necessary for new coordinator Marty Mornhinweg’s offense. He’ll be joining Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight in the Jets backfield. Hopefully Goodson can provide that explosive element at running back the Jets were looking for.
